Diet plays an important role in your general well-being and in turn natural hair growth. It is important that you know foods to eat for longer natural hair and add them to your diet.
Generally, Omega-3 fatty acids, protein, biotin, vitamin A, C, D and E, Iron and Zinc are needed foe hair growth. So it is important to eat foods rich in these nutrients some of which I have listed for you.
Superfoods for natural hair growth
Eggs are a major source of protein, a major constituent of the haur strand. They also contain Iron, biotin and Zinc which promote hair growth.
Spinach contains vitamin A and E, Iron and folate. These promote hair growth and stimulate the production of sebum from oil glands keeping the scalp and hair moisturized.
Oranges are rich in vitamin C which is a very essential vitamin for hair growth. It helps in the absorption of Iron, prevents hair aging therefore reducing hair fall rate.
- Fatty fish
Fish with Omega-3 fatty acids like salmon and mackerel are great for increasing hair density and promoting hair growth. They also contain Vitamin B and D which help in promoting healthy hair growth.
Berries are very rich in Vitamin C which makes them strong antioxidants. The body also uses vitamin C in the creation of collagen which keeps hair strong reducing breakage.
Almonds are rich in Vitamin B and Vitamin E. This means it has antioxidant properties and helps in the creation of red blood cells which affects blood flow to the scalp.
Avocados are full of healthy fat as well as vitamin E. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect the scalp from damage ensuring healthy hair follicles.
Carrots are rich in Vitamin A, a vitamin that is needed for cells to grow and for the secretion of the natural sebum which keeps the scalp moisturized. A carrot stick every other day will do good for your hair growth journey.
Nuts are attributed to a lot of health benefits including hair growth. They contain Vitamin B, Zinc and other essential fatty acids that propagate natural hair growth.
Oysters are rich in vitamin B, Zinc and Iron. These nutrients help in the supply of oxygen to the scalp. The zinc content stimulates the oil glands to keep hair strands moisturized and regulates hair tissue growth and repair.
Beans contain a lot of protein as well as zinc, iron and Vitamin B. It stimulates blood flow and promotes healthy hair growth.
Meat is a great source of protein which is essential for hair growth as hair itself is made up of protein. Red meat especially is a great source of iron and zinc.

Sunflower seeds are packed with nutrients and minerals. They have a very high Vitamin E concentrate which makes them great for hair growth and scalp health.
While it is important to add these foods into your diet, keep in mind that too much of everything is bad. Moderation is key.
