7 honey hair masks for moisturized natural hair

As a naturalista, moisturized hair is not a destination but a journey as keeping your hair soft and moisturized is a constant need. There are many popular products that are well known for having moisturizing properties and being good for the hair. Honey is one of these.

Honey is one product that you may have probably overlooked before. It is a sweet, thick fluid made by bees and some related insects from the nectar of flowers. We most popularly use honey in our diet as a replacement for sugar in foods but it has many other uses. The uses can be medicinal or cosmetic the cosmetic uses are described fully in another post.

DIY Honey hair masks

I have compiled 7 awesome honey hair masks for you, some of which I have used and got awesome results. It is recommended that you use natural honey

1. Plain Honey mask

Honey and water hair mask

All you need is Honey and water! Mix it together and massage it into your scalp and all over your hair strands.

2. Honey and Coconut oil hair mask

Coconut oil and honey hair mask

All you need is honey and coconut oil.

Procedure

  • Melt the coconut oil.
  • Add the honey into the coconut oil.
  • Allow the mixture to be cool to the touch.

Massage it into your scalp and through your hair strands with your fingers and leave it on for about 20-30 minutes before washing it out.

3. Honey and Olive oil hair mask

The ingredients needed are honey and olive oil.

Procedure

  • Add Honey to Olive oil.
  • Mix thoroughly.

Massage it into your scalp and through your hair strands with your fingers and leave it on for about 20-30 minutes before washing it out.

4. Honey and Yoghurt hair mask

All you need is yoghurt and honey.

Procedure

  • Add honey to yogurt.
  • Mix both properly.

Massage it into your scalp and through your hair strands with your fingers and leave it on for about 20-30 minutes before washing it out.

5. Honey and Apple Cidar Vinegar

You need honey and about 4 tablespoons of Apple Cidar vinegar.

Procedure

  • Put ACV in the honey.
  • Mix honey and Apple cider vinegar till smooth.

Massage it into your scalp and through your hair strands with your fingers and leave it on for about 40 minutes before washing it out.

6. Honey, Eggs and Olive oil

You need eggs, honey and olive oil.

Procedure

  • Beat eggs in a bowl.
  • Add honey and Olive oil.
  • Mix them well until it is a smooth mixture.

Apply it into your scalp and through your hair strands with your fingers and leave it on for about 30 minutes before washing it out.

7. Honey, Avocado and Olive oil

All you’ll need are Avocadoes, Honey and Olive oil.

Procedure

  • Mash the avocado.
  • Add honey and olive oil to the avocado.
  • Mix together in a bowl till smooth.

Apply it into your scalp and through your hair strands with your fingers and leave it on for about 20-30 minutes before washing it out.

Keep in mind that all hair is not the same. Because one of these honey hair masks works for someone you know doesn’t mean it’ll give you the same results. The beautiful thing about our natural hair journey is that we get to try new things and learn what works for us.
